NRC Calls for U.S. Recycling Improvements Amid China Crackdown
In the wake of China’s recycling import crackdown, a bright light has been shown on the U.S.’s poor recycling efforts. The National Recycling Coalition (NRC) has issued a press release, calling on the U.S. to greatly improve its recycling programs. Recycling is a great way to protect the environment, but the amount of contamination and non-recyclable materials entering the recycling stream makes things challenging. Because there is no standard list of recyclables, residents can be confused and end up doing more harm than good. To fix this issue, Recycle Across America, a nonprofit committed to fast-tracking environmental progress and promoting the importance of recycling, is advocating for a society-wide standardized label for recycling bins with a list of recyclables.
