WM named a Top Disability Friendly Company
DIVERSEability Magazine has released the early results of the review of the nation’s Best of the Best Top Disability-Friendly Companies, and Waste Management is on the list. The publication, one of the nation’s fastest-growing disability-focused magazines, polled hundreds of Fortune 1000 companies for its 2018 Best of the Best evaluations.
DIVERSEability promotes the advancement of people with disabilities in all aspects of business and employment to ensure equal opportunity, and says the outstanding efforts of the companies on this year’s list are to be commended.
Waste Management Corporate Talent Representative Wes Reel responded, “We are proud to be recognized as a top disability-friendly company by DIVERSEability magazine. This recognition honors our employees and family members that live with a disability. Statistics from the National Organization on Disability (NOD) reveal that approximately one in six U.S. citizens have some sort of disability. We have disabled co-workers at WM who are integral to the success of our company. In order to be an industry leader, we will continue to attract, retain and promote the best talent, skill and ability.”
The annual review is an evaluation of the nation’s employers, initiatives and government agencies. It provides unbiased results that are valuable resources for job-seekers, business owners, students, consumers, senior management, business associations, employment agencies and consumer groups.
The results will be published in the fall issue of DIVERSEability and available on newsstands mid-October.
